Read moreSan Gabriel -- The Alameda Corridor-East Construction Authority (ACE) has announced that archaeologists have found thousands of historic artifacts while excavating in the railroad right-of-way near the San Gabriel Mission, founded in 1771.  The excavation is part of the ongoing preparatory work prior to the construction of the San Gabriel Trench grade separation project set to begin later this year.

Santa Claus will be the guest of honor at a party scheduled on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m. at San Gabriel City Plaza Park at 428 S. Mission Drive. The party will go on even though the traditional holiday tree in the middle of Plaza Park toppled over during the windstorm.

At the San Gabriel Mission 40 adults to came this historical site and volunteered a full day of work to help repair and maintain the 239-year old site.
