ROSEMEAD – The Rosemead City Council proclaimed Tuesday, Aug. 3 as “National Night Out” at its Tuesday night meeting.

ROSEMEAD – Southern California Edison and Edison International recently awarded four west San Gabriel Valley college students with $2,500 scholarships to be used at their respective universities, company officials said.
The scholarships are renewable for up to four years for a total of $10,000, officials said, and are for students studying science, technology, engineering or math.

ROSEMEAD – Hundreds lined the curbs of Valley Boulevard Saturday morning and then meandered over to Rosemead Park for food, music and fireworks as part of the city’s 51st Independence Day Celebration.

ROSEMEAD - The new fiscal year is starting, the calendar year is at the midpoint. So, how is the city of Rosemead faring?

ROSEMEAD - July 3, 2010 -- Jane Tam, 17, will serve as Rosemead's 2010 Independence Day Parade Queen. She will ride in the parade scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. today.

ROSEMEAD - The Muscatel Junior High Science Olympiad Team competed at a national science competition and finished 15th nationwide, garnering them several honors from local politicians, including the Rosemead City Council at its Tuesday night meeting. 

ROSEMEAD - Crime is down in the city of Rosemead. And Police Chief Tim Murakami - who is a lieutenant with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department out of its Temple Station - said it's no accident.

ROSEMEAD - At 88 years young, it is not what Helen Gunther forgets. It is with the amazing accuracy at which she remembers. Born in Salt Lake City in 1921, Gunther and her family moved to Rosemead when she was 5 years old and she has not forgotten a fact about the area since.
