MONTEREY PARK -- Volunteers and city crews will target the city Cascade falls area with a clean-up effort on Saturday, Feb. 18. Volunteers and city crews will meet at 7:30 a.m. at the historic El Encanto Building located at 700 El Mercado.
This is the third city clean-up effort targeting a specific area of the City. On two previous times, volunteers, including boys scouts, have cleaned up the southern area of the city along South Garfield Avenue near the Pomona freeway and New Avenue, near the San Bernardino Freeeway. The Cascade area corridor includes the park and area leading from Kingsford Street to El Mercado, east and west of Atlantic Boulevard. Volunteers should wear work clothes and hats and bring work gloves.
