MONTEREY PARK - A Monterey Park man has been arrested in the death of his wife, officials said. Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives arrested 41-year old Hongxin Liu just before 3 p.m. Sunday for the death of his wife, 39-year-old Chenan Bao in the 1000 block of Ynez Avenue after they were allegedly involved in a domestic violence altercation 7 a.m. Sunday morning. Bao - who is to believed to be three months pregnant - died as a result of her injuries, officials said. The exact cause of death is unknown at this time. It will be determined by the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office at a later date, officials said. Officials also said in an earlier statement when the coroner arrived she said she found suspicious marks on the victim. No further remarks were given about those marks. The murder investigation is still ongoing and Liu has been booked at the Monterey Park Police Station and is being held in lieu of $1 million bail. In an earlier statement, officials also said the couple has a 2-year-old daughter who is currently in the custody of the Los Angeles County Department of Family and Children Services.
