MONTEREY PARK - Homicide investigators for the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department are continuing their investigation in the circumstances surrounding the suspicious death of a 39-year-old Asian female Sunday morning in the 1000 block of Ynez Avenue, officials said.
Officials said that the Monterey Park Police Department received an early morning call to assist the Monterey Park Fire Department in regards to the dead woman, who is also believed to be three months pregnant, officials said.
When the Los Angeles County Coroner arrived, she said she found suspicious marks on the victim. No further remarks were given about those marks.
The victim's boyfriend is being detained at Monterey Park Police Department as a witness pending the arrival of homicide detective for an interview, officials said.
The couple has a 2-year-old daughter and she is currently in the custody of the Los Angeles County Department of Family and Children Services pending the outcome of the boyfriend's interview, officials said.
