Cities Plan Independence Day Events

Free fireworks shows throughout the West San Gabriel Cities will mark the U.S. Independence Day on July 4th.
Scores of community groups will be fund raising by selling legal and safe & Sane Fireworks at temporary stands throughout Rosemead and Monterey Park.

In Monterey park celebration will begin with live entertainment at the amphitheater area at Barnes Park, 350 S. McPherrin Ave.
New U.S. Citizens will be honored during the program.
At 9 p.m. a commercial fireworks will be set off on the baseball field area.
Officials emphasize that personal fireworks and alcoholic drinks are not allowed on the park.
McPHerrin , Harding and Ramona Avenues will be closed to vehicular traffic from 5 to 11 pm to enable pedestrian use and fireworks viewing.
Officials expect thousands of people and cars will create a traffic jam in the streets surrounding Barnes Park.
The City will kick off Independence Day festivities on Tuesday, July 3 with its annual parade at 10 a.m. at Valley Boulevard at Bartlett Avenue and will travel east to Loma Avenue then north to Rosemead Park.

The parade will feature entries from around the community and region including 25-foot patriotic balloons floating high above spectators, along with local heroes and community groups.
Rosemead’s celebration will continue at Rosemead Park with carnival rides, music, food and firework
A number of Rosemead streets along Valley Boulevard will be closed to traffic beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 3, for the annual Independence Day parade. Vehicles in violation of the parking restrictions on Valley Boulevard will be impounded at 6 a.m. The parade begins at 10 a.m.
The parade will follow its traditional route by traveling east on Valley Boulevard, from Bartlett Avenue, then north on Loma Avenue to Rosemead Park. The parade begins at 10 a.m. and ends at approximately noon.
Alhambra residents will celebrate the nations Independence Day on Tuesday, July 4th for music, food and activities starting at 3pm, then watch the night’s sky light up at 9pm during the fireworks show. For more information, contact the Community Services Department at 626-570-3242.
