The Pomona Freeway was scheduled to be closed at Tuesday night between the 605 and 710 freeways while Cal Trans crews rebuild the severely damaged Paramount Boulevard overpass.

A tanker filled with thousands of gallons of gasoline exploded on the 60 Freeway Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 14, damaging the roadway and overpass. The damage shutdown a major east west freeway and impacted thousands of commutors and local drivers.

Through east-west streets throughout Montebello, Monterey Park and Rosemead were packed with cars on the follow days, until there was partial opening of the freeway lanes on the weekend.

There were no reported injuries from the tanker fire.
