Jeremy Lin has probably been called many things in his lifetime. But now he can add a new adjective to those descriptions.
The future might be now for the Mark Keppel High football team, but it will have to wait another week for the first win of the season as the Aztecs dropped a heartbreaker, 7-6, to host Ganesha High on Friday night (8/29/14) in a nonleague game.
Local teams, including Mark Keppel Aztecs lost their opening night football games as the 1914 high school football season got underway.
The Aztecs Anthony Medrano scored on a 38-yeard pass in the first quarter, but were unable to cross the goal line again. Their opponents from Ganesha High scored only 7 points, but that was enough to win.
Plans for a big New Year’s Eve party on the downtown streets of Monterey Park will be considered when the city council meets on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at city hall.
High school football began early Thursday and will be officially launched tonight (Friday) for all the local teams.
On Thursday, Northview held off Rosemead High, winning 27-21 at the San Dimas High School Field.
